do you have to drill the cabinet too fit this retrofit pin
To install the pin (whichever one - straight or L), the top cover of the exterior cabinet must be lifted up. In doing so, you'll need to remove the door...to remove the top door hinge...in order to remove the top cover.
With the top out of the way, cut a flap through the insulation that approximates the pin you're replacing. You'll want to put the insulation back when you're done.
At this point, YES - you'll need to drill through the cabinet. It's best to drill from the top, but be double...TRIPLE sure that you're drilling in the correct location.
Also...you might have to file away the remnants of the old pin if still in there.
