What is the install process and drain requirements for the model NU130PA?
Is there an integrated pump? Or is there an nugget icemaker that can utilize the sink drain?
Nice, a residential home machine. We normally work with commercial food service, but for you I will make a exception. Attached is a install manual and service manual. It will spell out the install requirements.
Download and save them for the future. You will need them.
I was hesitant to reply to this because I've never installed a household ice machine.
Vicki inquired as to whether it has a drain pump (vice a gravity drain). From what I've read, it does.
She also asked whether it can be connected to a sink drain. Maybe she's thinking of connecting it like how a dishwasher connects to her sink. I do NOT recommend that, since the drain hose can potentially siphon sink drain water back into the icemaker (yuk!). Many local codes require making a drain connection which incorporates an air gap. An air gap is the only fail-safe and sanitary way of ensuring that won't happen.
I recommend that she consult with a licensed plumber on how this can be accomplished.
Ecto, The ones I have seen in the past, The drain pump is a option. I have no idea as to what options she has, But the install manual does give all options. They are a 15 inch 160 lb. undercouter machine with minimum controls. But they do make a lot more ice than the counter-tops 30 lb's per day. Seen few in high end party camps on islands in Lake George. $$$$$. Heck, They even run there own power underwater to the islands with there own HV transformer systems.
BTW, they stopped making this nugget machine about 6 months ago.
