What is causing this. Have replaced the seal 2 times still have problem.
This is a import that started back a few years with a cheap planetary mixer and has now expanded out to more products. Unfortunately they have spent all there time marketing and none in support of there products. They don't even give a break down, just a list of parts. However all is not lost.
What makes you think the seal get's hot? If you see grease leakage, check the crankcase vent. As it warms up from heat build-up it has to vent the expansion of the air and lubricant.
I believe you are referring to the seal at the end of the gear-case that the shaft comes out of for the auger to insert into. The gear case on these is filled with grease instead of a gear oil. With extended grinding at high loads it will build a bit of heat in the gear-case. However, it should be warm, not hot. If you are experiencing a high heat, you have a major problem. If the heat is in the end of the head, it means you are not lubricating the auger shaft before assembly. If if seems to be from the gearcase, you have a bearing or overload problem.
How long are you running, and what are you grinding. What diameter of grate are you using. If you are grinding meat as it was intended for, is it below 32 degrees? For efficient grinding it should be between 28 and 32. Sometimes one has to add ice cubes.
