Need help to get my Mixer going again, I am wondering if it could be a fuse?
I'm sorry to hear you have a problem. This mixer is a South African built unit and I'm unable to find any wiring diagrams on it. And, I've never worked on one. You should have a wiring diagram inside the machine somewhere. I also believe that Volrath renamed them and sold them for a bit.
But all is not lost. Typically one of the safety switches is not closed. They are in series, so any one will prevent operation. Bowl lift, bowl safety cover, shift index, and timers are the most common. If the motor contactor has coil voltage, The safety circuit is closed. Test for line voltage on the contacts and determine if the contactor is closing. If no voltage, look for a reset. If you find the wiring schematic, post it for us and I'm sure we can help you.
You never stated what voltage or if your machine was single or 3 phase. So I'm going to stop here.
