I have a vulcan VG36 and the oven goes out all the time. can you advise on possible causes.
First off, we need more information, Is this a standing pilot or electronic ignition oven. They made them both ways and year matters.
There are several possibilities. Loss of gas, flame safety sensing, Gas valve electrical connection, or thermostat system.
Loss of gas is not likely, as you would probably see fluctuations with other equipment.
Flame safety will show on the controller as a LED flashing a code for it's condition. Most common is a loss of current from the pilot/burner ground. It needs a constant 1.5 millivolt to stay locked in. Also a dirty burner or poor flame adjustment will effect this.
Gas electrical connections are self explanatory. Look for loose wires and connectors on the gas valve, Thermostat, power supply, and ignition control..
If Standing Pilot;
Check the quality of the pilot flame.
