I keep losing coolant in my ice machine and cant find a leak. I think it is in the grids that form the ice
Sorry to hear that...
What method of detection might you be using to find this leak of ...uh...COOLANT (as you call it)?
We definitely need some more specifics to help you. Not just a model number, which would be nice since Scotsman is pretty good about manuals and that would very likely help you, but, what problem you're experiencing. Is your unit not making any ice at all?
I've done some reading about the grid separating from the evap, but I don't know what your situation is. If you think it's leaking, it cannot be repaired. You must replace it. With the cost of some of these parts, you may even be looking at replacing the entire unit.
If you could give us more details, that'd be great
Are you referring to refrigerant loss, or water carry over into the bin? How do you know?
