I Have a Manitowoc QD0132A ice machine, the water runs and sound like the compressor is working but it don't makes any ice.
Sound like the compressor is running? ?Just touch it, if its vibrating, or moving or shaking or humming its running.
You have multiple things that could be happening, I deal with Scotsman units but I can't imagine Manitowoc doing it any different.
Is the condensor fan running?
You could have a refrigerant issue which I doubt is the case but is possible. Here is the thing, if your water is running that means its either cleaning or making ice, if its making ice, the bin is not full so its not the curtain switch jammed, so that's not the problem.
If the condensor fan is not running, then your compressor will overheat and shut off through its overtemp protection device. IF the condensor fan is running, compressor is running, then you might have a harvest assist probe that's not doing anything OR you have a refrigerant leak somewhere and your out of cooling juice. When you look at all the copper tubes, is there an iceblock anywhere? Does the evaporator get cold at all?
Ok, these under-counter machines are very sensitive to level and the water trays get broken often with ice scoops. Look at the right side of the water tray and see if it is leaking any water into the bin. Check that the water pump is flowing water over the plate and into the drain pan evenly. no water should be leaving the pan into the bin. Check the float valve that water runs when you push it down.
If that is ok, touch the tubes on the left side (there are two) coming out of the ice plate. They should be cold and frosted. If the bottom one is hot, your machine is in harvest. The bottom one will ice first. Top one a minuet or two later. What color lights do you have on the board? The green should be lit and the red not. if the red is lit it is in harvest, or the sensor is grounding. Check that the harvest cover still has it's magnet in place (lower right) and is closed all the way.
Check the bottom, fan running and condenser clear. compressor suction tube (the larger one) should be cold and the discharge hot. At the top of the condenser coil the tubing should be hot, and room temp at the bottom tube. If not the compressor is either not running or low on refrigerant.
It is common for the condenser coil to develop a leak from vibration if the fans get a vibration.from lack of proper cleaning. If that is the case, you will probably be better served by replacement, but call a tech first.
