How to install door gasket on a T-49 ref?
The True T-49 should have a gasket that simply presses into the groove on the door. Apply pressure at all points to make sure the gasket is fully pushed in. Here's a short video from our friends at True with more visual details. Upright Refrigerator and Freezer Gasket Care & Replacement - YouTube
I hope this helps!
The True's are one of the easiest to do. The video is good but make sure the gasket has been rested to a magnetic surface to make it easier. I like on the difficult ones to take the door of and support it on a table or horses so it doesn't warp. That way I can clean out the grooves and if it's sunny, the heat helps to relax the gasket. Start by installing a top corner and check the gasket for correct length to the other top corner. Install top by pressing in. Do not slide down the gasket as it will grow, and make it difficult to make it all fit. Now check that the bottom length is correct for both sides. Install one corner and then the side. Repeat for the other side and bottom. If the door grooves are a bit tight, spray them with a little water or soap solution as lube. Make sure that the second barb is fully seated into the door. On wide magnets like the True, make sure to apply even pressure across the magnet so as not to crack it.
