They are made to run to the head before shutting off. It can't overfill due to the door switch not closing. Even on other brands like Scotsman or Ice-O-Matic. The only one I have ever seen with a problem is a Hoshazaki that the bin switch failed. Even the nugget and flakers have a fill switch on them. With themif you get water carry over they tend to make solid blocks if left to long in the bin.
